Hydroglycolic and glycolic extracts
The hydroglycolic and glycolic extracts
Both fresh and dried plant matrices can undergo extraction with glycols or with mixtures of water and glycols to obtain glycolic or hydroglycolic extracts. Various glycols can be used, including those of plant origin and approved for use in Cosmos products. In the extraction process with glycols or with mixtures of water and glycols, there are numerous variables that can be modified to favor and optimize the enrichment of an aqueous extract in terms of particular desired active ingredients. Temperature, D/E ratio, and duration of extraction are some examples.
The hydroglycolic and glycolic extracts we handle
We can source hydroglycolic and glycolic extracts from botanists in various geographical areas of the world.
We can develop hydroglycolic and glycolic extracts by optimizing extraction conditions. Various glycols can be used, for example, 1,2-propanediol, 1,3-propanediol, pentanediol and others, including those of plant origin. Our hydroglycolic and glycolic extracts can be stabilized by adding preservatives of the customer's choice, e.g., in cosmetics, the same preservatives can be used as are intended to be used in the finished product, so as not to complicate the INCI.
If you prefer not to add preservatives, you can provide pasteurized aqueous extracts packaged in sterile bag-in-boxes.
We can provide various types of hydroglycolic and glycolic extracts, made using glycols or mixtures of water and glycols as the extraction vehicle.
